Chris Main, DO is a board-certified orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopy specialist. His main interests are the arthroscopic treatment of shoulder instability, biceps pathology and rotator cuff injuries, as well as arthoscopic treatment of knee meniscus and ligament tears.

In addition, he enjoys complex shoulder and knee reconstruction including articular cartilage repair, partial and total joint replacements, and the use of cutting-edge technology such as the use of custom design implants for gender specific knee replacements, arthroscopic implants, biologic bone and cartilage transplants, and the latest materials and design for joint replacement.

In 2001, Dr. Main returned to his hometown to start a new orthopedic practice and give back to the community he grew up in. The practice has grown significantly over the years and now includes two facilities, a surgery center and 17 employees.

Midwest Bone & Joint specializes in work comp cases, working together with several large employers in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. Many additional services have been added to accommodate the needs of our clients, including drug screening, hearing testing, respirator fit testing and pre-employment physicals.

In 2015, Dr. Main learned of the Free Market Medical Association. After becoming a member and attending the annual conference, Dr. Main and his management team made the decision to pursue the free market medical model. In January 2016, Midwest Bone & Joint Center became a Free Market Medical Association Endorsed Provider and together with Orscheln Farm and Home, founded the Missouri FMMA Chapter. Dr. Main is passionate about healthcare reform. He believes in price transparency, honesty, fairness and above all -exceptional care with successful outcomes.
